Hendrik Aerts

Actor and director Hendrik Aerts graduating at the Arnhem theatre school in 2000. Since 2017, he’s been a regular actor and director for the NNT. As a regular actor with Saskia Boddeke and Peter Greenaway he played in Rembrandts Spiegel, The Blue Planet, The Big Bang, A Day in the Life of a Castle, The Black Square, The Golden Age of the Russian Avantgarde, Obedience and Chtchoukine, Matisse, La Danse et la Musique, and others. He also wrote several productions including Jamais Vu and Hij Die Nog Van Geen Einde Wist as well as directing Harry — Een Loflied (winner of the Voix Gras festival), Sa Majesté des Mouches, Naar Varkensstal, Offending the Audience, and Stereotypografilogica. As an actor, Aerts worked under the direction of Marcus Azzini, Lotte van de Berg, Johan Simons, Nataliya Golofastova, Sanne Vogel, Jules Terlingen, Marieke van Leeuwen, Michiel Johannes Jansen, Alexandra Broeder, Guy Weizman, Dries Verhoeven and Lucas de Man. On television, he could be seen in such shows as De Acteurs, Zone Stad, Keyzer en de Boer, Advocated, Code 37, De Bunker and Vermist. On the big screen, he can been seein Goltzius and the Pelican Company (dir: Peter Greenaway) and Het Vonnis and Het Tweede Gelaat by Jan Verheyen. He’s also employed as a guest teacher at ArtEZ for drama and dance and has done several interdisciplinary shows with the PDC (Self-Accusation, Kaspar, Offending the Audience and Fassbinder). A surprising fact: he’s probably the best-smelling man at our studio, and his scent always arrives before he does.
