Veerle van Overloop
ActressVeerle van Overloop (1969, Belgium) graduated in 1994 at the Theatre School Arnhem. Since then, she worked as an actress in various theater and production companies such as Ro Theater, Theater van het Oosten, ‘t Barre Land, Frascati, Noord Nederlands Toneel and Club Guy & Roni.
Between 2001 and 2009, Van Overloop was an ensemble member of the theatre company Noord Nederlands Toneel (NNT) in Groningen under the artistic directorship of Koos Terpstra. In that same period, she met Guy Weizman and Roni Haver from Club Guy & Roni. From 2009 Van Overloop collaborated with their dance company for several productions, both as a dramaturge and as a performer.
Van Overloop made her directorial debut with The Jungle is our House (2016), a production by Club Guy & Roni. A year later she founded her own production structure ShELFISH. In August 2018, her second project One Million People and Me premiered at Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival Groningen. In 2019 she created the documentary performance What Lies Beneath. In that same year she also embarked on an extensive field research in the youth care sector in preparation of her newest production Life & Times, which will premiere in 2021.
