Nachtwacht returns in 2027
The production is hitting the road again from March to May 2027.
fter four sold-out nights at Koninklijk Theater Carré, an important chapter of Nachtwacht has come to a close. Since its premiere, the performance has continued to evolve, taking on new shapes with each iteration — with Carré marking a moment of arrival.
At the same time, this is not an ending. From March to May 2027, Nachtwacht will return to theaters across the Netherlands.
Ticket sales have partly opened: a large number of theaters went on sale today at 10:00. Sales for additional venues will follow at a later stage.
Nachtwacht brings together 27 musicians, dancers and actors in a large-scale performance where theatre, dance and live music merge into a physical and musical experience. At its centre is a family navigating the final phase of their father’s life (‘Dhr.’), where care, resistance, love and long-standing dynamics converge.
The performance shifts from a recognisable reality into a more ritual, musical world, where a weakening heartbeat transforms into an unstoppable beat. In that transition, space opens up for what is difficult to grasp: farewell, confusion, and the act of letting go.
