The Current – where rave culture becomes a ritual of resistance, release and connection.
The Current by Club Guy & Roni, Boris Acket and HIIIT is an immersive performance about collectivity, freedom and the power of physical connection. Inspired by rave and club culture, dancers, musicians and audiences move together through a constantly shifting landscape of light, sound and architecture.
NITE actor and singer Sarah Janneh performs texts by South African writer Ronelda S. Kamfer. Live percussion and electronic music by Max Frimout and Stanislav Tolkachev create an intense, pulsing sonic landscape.
Inside an installation by Boris Acket, the boundaries between performer and audience dissolve. The Current explores what happens when individuals surrender to a collective flow — and how freedom, resistance and personal conviction can still exist within it.
NB. The Current is primarily a standing performance with no fixed seating available. We are currently exploring options for visitors with reduced mobility.
