Club Guy & Roni | Slagwerk Den Haag
‘Happiness’ is a performance with a wink. It is a piece about anti-heroes who are not perfect, but still find happiness in their way. He who was once born for a dime, could still end up feeling like a quarter. But would you want to walk in their shoes? That is the question. Is it necessary to score high on the scale of happiness to experience the true feeling of it?
Inspired by the film ‘Happiness’ by the American director Todd Solondz, international dance company Club Guy & Roni and the musicians of Slagwerk Den Haag go on the hunt for happiness in a world populated by peculiar people who cannot always keep their real and virtual characters separated. The result is an absurd and bittersweet comedy with the theatrical and explosive dance style of the award-winning choreographers Guy Weizman and Roni Haver, and an original score by Frank Wienk (Bink Beats, Slagwerk Den Haag) and Niels Broos (Kyteman).
