World-class international director comes to the Netherlands with an exclusive short tour.
In DE JACHT (THE HUNT) by NITE + Slagwerk Den Haag, director and theater maker Manuela Infante (Santiago de Chile, 1980) dives into the world of ‘rewilding’; a world that focuses on creating more wilderness in nature and reducing human influence and control. A subject that has become more topical than ever in the Netherlands since the return of the wolf.
Manuela Infante x NITE
After completing studies in Chile and at the University of Amsterdam, Infante is now a sought-after interdisciplinary theater maker worldwide. She has worked at the KVS (Brussels), Schauspielhaus Hannover, Theater Basel, Volkstheater Vienna, Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil (Chile), The Watermill Center (USA), Theatre Works (Singapore) among others.
Based on research, improvisation, music and collected stories, Infante does not chase the one story that would have shaped history and humanity. In collaboration with composer musician Diego Noguera, the actors of the NITE ensemble and the musicians of Slagwerk Den Haag, with THE HUNT she develops her associative reflections into an intriguing musical performance full of soundscapes that challenges your thinking and stimulates your senses. Musical, absurd, and over the top.
About De Jacht (The Hunt)
We often feel alienated from nature. No longer see ourselves as part, but as dominators or, on the contrary, protectors. In ‘De Jacht’, the latest NITE + Slagwerk Den Haag production directed by Chilean Manuela Infante, this distinction between ‘human’ and ‘nature’ is questioned.
