After last year’s HORIZON, THE RUBBLE MENU is the second collaborative project for director Mateusz Staniak and choreographer Adam Peterson.

In THE RUBBLE MENU, the creative duo lays out options for a next next next generation looking to find solace and sustenance in the ruins of societies past. The performance researches how the representation of a reality is assembled in the imaginations of a post-internet generation.

“Globalization and cultural homogenization causes us to experience reality as a strange non-place; where we are alienated from the world and consequences of our actions.

The Rubble Menu is filled with attempts at connection and attempts for progress that oftentimes fall short and bears resemblance to the consumerism, the narcissism and the violence that permeates our current society.”

Ruins and remains are constantly being rearranged in the effort to fast forward our timeline or to wipe clean our transgressions. The performance is not only inhabiting a non-place but speculates about the end of a linear time and the eternal now of post-digital life.

The Rubble Menu is an offering of warnings, struggles and hopes that the future can still be rerouted.
